We bring over 10 years of Legal Information Technology and over 16 years of Information Technology experience to the market.

The Founders Beginning

The journey that led to the creation of Inventum Alliance started back in 1994 when the founder was left to repair his own computer at the age of 10. The computer sales guy, and also technician, repeatedly missed his appointments. This prompted a trip to the book store, Walden Books at the time, to purchase a book on MS-DOS. A primary computer operating system during those years.

The experiences continued and the learning never stopped. As a matter of fact, the thirst grew and became permanently unquenchable. Many long nights and days were spent staring at a bright screen and using a dial-up modem. These were the days of Bulletin Board Systems (BBS’s), Prodigy Online, America Online (AOL), and Internet Relay Chat (IRC).

Networking Day & Night

There were groups of other pre-teenagers, from coast-to-coast, scouring a very slow and contained internet, compared to today. Programing, scripting, knowledge sharing, mini-wars, technology discoveries, and accelerated learning was the modus operandi – and there was no stopping it. The types of things that were witnessed were unknown to the masses. The internet technology movement was being created by 10-13 year olds, who would skip school the next day cause they had been up 30 hours learning.

Time For A Job & Education

With so much knowledge at a very young age, being dispatched to fix computers on the high school campus (as a student) was the daily routine. Never shall the story of the teacher who kicked the student-fixer out of the teachers lounge be forgotten. Let’s just say, the computers remained functional. Three months before high school graduation (March 2000) the first resume opportunity was presented, thanks to the career and technology teacher. A job with the school district computer department, leading to about 5 years of purely hands-on learning.

Jump To The Legal Side

Opportunities abundant. The decision to be exposed to the legal side of technology is the infancy of what this company is today. The year was 2005. TVs on carts with VCRs and DVD players were the litigation support of those days. The ELMO was a good supplement, but the projectors stole the show. Especially when it came to video depositions with transcript synchronization. Developing the in-house digital forensics practice was the bridge that sparked the interest into eDiscovery.

College, Law School, and The Big Project

During all the fun experiences, formal education was taking place behind the scenes. The desire to fuse the technology and legal worlds was a declaration made back in 2005. People to this day remember the spoken words, “I don’t know how I’m going to do it, but I’m going to combine my technology experience with legal”. So, it became a reality, made possible by being staffed on the biggest environmental disaster in US history – and it was for eDiscovery.

Every Opportunity Absorbed

From the very beginning, every opportunity to learn was seized and committed to memory. After the environmental project, came the high volume law firm job. This had to be the most accelerated rate of learning experienced, and it’s what closed the loop on being exposed to the entire electronic discovery reference model (EDRM). It is because of these experiences, history, and broad understanding, that we are able to deliver innovative solutions to our clients and forge robust alliances today.
